One Layer Card

Over at Less Is More this week the challenge is to make a One Layer Card with flowers or trees. This is my second attempt at a One Layer Card and my first one I don't think was great so I was a bit dubious about how it would turn out. Well it turned out better than my first one so I'll definately be trying some more and practice makes perfect!

The photo isn't the best I'm afraid. I used a charcoal grey pearlescent card as I wanted to try my Prismas on dark card plus I used this card for my wedding invites and have loads left over so a good opportunity to use it up. The stamp is one I picked up in a bargain bin at the Artstamps Show in Edinburgh last year. I'm sure it was only about a £1 so a good bargain! I stamped the image in white and coloured the flowers with Prismas. The Happy Birthday stamp is one I also picked up at a craft show somewhere again stamped in white. I added some green shimmer dots from Papermania down the side although I'm not sure if I could maybe have got away with not adding them.

Less Is More

I just heard last week about a new challenge blog called Less Is More and had to have a go! Best wishes to Chrissie and Mandi with what I'm sure will be a very popular blog. I look forward to entering many future challenges.  The theme for the first challenge is to use the colours Pink, Black and White. Perfect for a Valentines card for my hubby!!

I used some pink striped paper from a Disney pack I had. The black and pink stitched ribbon is from my stash but I think it was wrapped round a pair of pyjamas originally!! The sentiment is printed in Edwardian Script and matted on black and pink card. The heart is cut from a lovely Tim Holtz die set called Heart Wings from the Bigz Dies range. I added some fine pink glitter in stripes to match in with the paper.

Alice In Wonderland

Over at Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog the challenge last week was to create a project in the theme of Alice In Wonderland. I bought some Alice In Wonderland 12"x12" paper in Florida last year and the intention was to use this for a scrapbook page so I was pleased to have an excuse to use it for something different. So glad I bought 2 sheets!! The theme of the paper is Hallowe'en so although it's a bit early I made a Hallowe'en card:

The stamp is a freebie from Craft Stamper magazine and I have stamped the image and wording in gold. The cards and background paper are Jabberwocky from the Hallowe'en In Wonderland collection by Graphic 45. The sentiment is printed. I would like to enter the above card in the following challenge

Cute clowns

Over at Catch The Bug Challenge Blog the mini challenge for Tuesday is to use the cute clown image supplied and add some bling! Love this one it's such a cute image!

I coloured her with my Promarkers and added some Bling by Kanban. The background paper is from a block of pink and black card I picked up at the SECC a while ago. The sentiment is by Craftwork Cards, the pink wooden flower is by Craft for Occasions and the ribbons are both by Maya Road.

Bengals and Crafting Don't Mix!!

Well I had a fun but frustrating time last night making a few cards! Indy my very naughty Bengal just wouldn't leave my stuff alone. His favourite is my roll of tape. Put it down and he's off with it. I spend more time chasing after him. He might look cute here but he gets up to mischief like you wouldn't believe!!

Anyway on to the crafty stuff!!  Over at Catch The Bug Challenge Blog the 1st Birthday celebrations for Bugaboo Stamps have been going on all week. I had great fun doing the Blog Hop and although I had intended to try all of the challenges my printer ran out of ink so I was a bit late getting started.  I've only just discovered these fab digi stamps so I had to take advantage of the great birthday discount on offer this week to buy a few sets.

The first card I have made is for the Blue and White mini challenge.

I used the freebie Bugaboo Stamps image from last week. Sunbonnets was one of the sets I bought. I couldn't resist!! She is coloured with my Promarkers. The background paper has been in my stash for ages so I can't remember where it is from. The blue background is a kind of fabric paper and I picked this up at the SECC a couple of years ago. The sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

Crafty Sunday

Well the plan was to have a whole crafty weekend but I ended up napping yesterday afternoon (what a waste!) so it's ended up just being a crafty Sunday afternoon!

Just took part in my first Blog Hop over at Ladybug Crafts Ink. Great fun and so many lovely creations!

The challenge this week at Ladybug Crafts Ink is Baby so I have made a blue baby boy card:

The stamp is Forever Friends and I have coloured this cute little bear with my Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is by Prima and the rope trim is from John Lewis. The layout is from the fab sketch from this week's challenge at The Shabby Tearoom

Here is a close up of the sentiment which is so appropriate. It says Create - to bring into existence

Here is a card I made for a friends birthday this week

The bear stamp is from Forever Friends and I coloured him using my Prismacolor pencils. The background papers are from Daisy and Dandelion's Penelope and Percy range and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. The layout is from this week's great challenge sketch from Inspirational Crad Sketches:
