One Layer Card

Over at Less Is More this week the challenge is to make a One Layer Card with flowers or trees. This is my second attempt at a One Layer Card and my first one I don't think was great so I was a bit dubious about how it would turn out. Well it turned out better than my first one so I'll definately be trying some more and practice makes perfect!

The photo isn't the best I'm afraid. I used a charcoal grey pearlescent card as I wanted to try my Prismas on dark card plus I used this card for my wedding invites and have loads left over so a good opportunity to use it up. The stamp is one I picked up in a bargain bin at the Artstamps Show in Edinburgh last year. I'm sure it was only about a £1 so a good bargain! I stamped the image in white and coloured the flowers with Prismas. The Happy Birthday stamp is one I also picked up at a craft show somewhere again stamped in white. I added some green shimmer dots from Papermania down the side although I'm not sure if I could maybe have got away with not adding them.

I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenge:

Thanks for looking and please feel free to leave a comment.

  3. This is lovely... it's great to see cards with different coloured 'white space'. I didn't notice your shimmer dots until I read they were there, and when I looked for them, I didn't immediately notice that they were down the whole right hand side. Photographing dark card like this is very difficult. I think that the composition would stand quite well without them, but they are just fine.
Thanks for joining us and we hope to see you for our next challenge!

  4. Great card June
I had been toying with the idea of a daisy chin for a project I was working on!
Love the base card colour, refreshing change from all the white I use!
As for the dots, I didn't see them until I enlarged the pic, actually loks good with or without. I'd probably opt for without, but, then Im a lopsided gal! lol
Thanks for entering, hope to see you again and again
